BALT 4396 - Week 7 - Logos & AI

In Week 7, I looked at the advantages of utilizing AI for logo creation and how it might help businesses. Artificial intelligence allows businesses to generate logos that reflect their personality and sector without the need for expensive human designers. For example, I utilized AI to swiftly create a logo for Instructional ABA Consultants (IABA), which is the ABA company I work for to give children with Autism therapy. This logo incorporates themes of child growth and behavioral advancement. AI logos are an excellent answer for startups because of their speed and cost-effectiveness. They help businesses to retain brand consistency across platforms.

However, while AI provides numerous benefits, there are significant ethical problems to address. This week's readings highlighted how relying heavily on AI might disrupt creative industries and impact livelihoods, particularly for designers in developing nations. While AI-generated logos are quick and inexpensive, they can eliminate the need for human designers, who rely on this labor for a living. This is why, despite the convenience of AI, I plan to invest in a human-designed logo in the future. For example, hiring a designer from Bangladesh, Masbaul Rabbe, whose work costs roughly $50, not only creates a distinctive and individualized logo, but also helps his livelihood in an area where even modest sums of money make a big impact. Encouraging human creativity and talent, particularly in neglected areas, can have a beneficial knock-on impact and emphasize the need for ethical decision-making in business.

Moving forward, I intend to balance the use of AI technologies with a human-centered approach in my commercial efforts, including the AI consulting firm I intend to launch. AI can automate operations such as content creation, website building, and providing pro bono services to help grow my portfolio, making the firm more efficient from the start. For example, using Google Sites will allow me to develop a simple and functional website, and once I've gained traction, I'll acquire a domain name to have a more formal online presence. Offering free services under the label "pro bono" can lead to future paid clients while establishing myself as a professional in the subject. At the same time, I'll keep ethical issues in mind when making judgments, making sure not to overlook the human impact. My journey is more than just starting a business; it's about combining technology, creativity, and meaningful human contact to create an enterprise that embodies my ideals.
